My brother and I had Aji no Sanpei as our bucket list after learning that they carry the original recipe for miso ramen. We headed right after a hike in Mt. Maruyama on a Thursday at 2pm, so we were starving. All we can say is, wow, this was absolutely perfect. I've always feared that miso ramen was too strong, but we adored how balanced this broth was. The serving of noodles and ground pork were generous, and I loved the bites of bamboo and onions. We also had shu mai, and were pleasantly surprised with how flavorful each bite was. Luckily we didn't have to wait to be seated as we came a bit after lunch, but there were also other diners around.

•So glad to have tried this, knowing that it’s where miso ramen originated! •I was first in line and was there at 10AM. I was able to check the stationery store while waiting. Not very busy during my visit but line gets long very fast. •Limited seats (I think just 10 seats), and a bit awkward because everyone watches you eat while waiting 🤭😅 The staff also need to wait for you to be done because they cook the next orders only as soon as customer is seated. •I got the miso, and the serving was huge! I wasnt able to finish it but I did like it + the experience. My only note is I felt it was too oily for my liking, but the soup was very light and not too salty. •Hope to try the shoyu variant next time. •Cash payment only. •Still highly recommended!

Miso ramen tasted like miso soup mixed with sesame oil. Pleasant but not not something I would crave for. Portion size was huge. Wanton very mediocre especially if you compare to Chinese wantons.

Heartwarming huge bowls of good ramen! We got the shio and miso (which is super famous for, allegedly the first place to serve miso ramen) for ¥1000 each and we were completely full; portions are way too generous! Toppings were simple and tasteful; we also got the dumplings, very good too. They serve ramen at steaming temperatures so be careful; for this reason I found a bit hard to get the more delicate notes of the miso in the ramen, but that's personal preference. Service is amazing. The shop is inside a big stationary shop which makes it even more special in a way. Very hard to beat!

Tuck in a stationery building on the paper floor. Soup base less thick than others. The noddle was good texture and right amount of firmness.
