We tried Ohiso’s third store and the food was great! The donburi was very fresh. The fatty tuna was fresh and delicious, definitely worth trying if you are an ootoro fan. The king crab was delicious even though it takes a bit more effort. The grilled abalone was alright. The wait can be quite long depending on what time you go, and the crowds on that day.

Hiromi made our dinner at Ohiso so pleasant with her excellent English and her friendly manner. Of course, the seafood was fresh, sweet and reasonably priced. Our time there more than satisfied our cravings for excellent seafood at Nijo market. Plus we did not have a line to wait in before being seated on a Saturday at 5:30pm. Yeah!

Delicious seafood but prepare to wait. I came on a late Saturday afternoon around 1:50pm and finally got a seat around 3pm. But the long wait was soon forgotten once the food came. I was gonna make sure to make it worth my time so I ordered one of the sets and it plus some additionals. The oo-toro sashimi was top notch and melted like butter when in my mouth. The local grilled fish was excellent with its smoky charcoal finish and was a different meal from the rest. Their donburi bowl comes in different forms, mine had crab, sea urchin, salmon and salmon roe; just seafood heaven. And washed it all down with some local Sapporo lager. You definitely get what you pay for here, top quality. Just be ready to wait…

So many choices here at Nijo market, we just went with Ohiso but it's a good choice for fresh seafood. We had to wait for 15mins to be seated since it's a popular restaurant. The crab meat bowl was very fresh and sweet. I'm not sure what type of crab it was tho. Overall satisfied with the place.

Actually remember seeing Rossy Ogawa eat here so had to come back and grab a bowl. Tried the hokkaidon and it was delicious. It was busy and had to wait 30 minutes or so but worth it.
