南13条石山通珈琲Ishiyama Douri Coffee
This is the coffee shop "Ishiyamadori Coffee" located along Minami 13-jo Ishiyama-dori. About 13 cars can park in front of the shop. In a calm interior behind an elegant brick exterior, you can enjoy the deliciousness of "freshly ground, freshly brewed" coffee: the beans are ground after the order is taken and hand-dripped using a flannel filter.

This place is amazing. Feels very old school and a labour of love. Old school coffee shop, the type I've always imagined but never seen. The scent of coffee and tobacco. The jazz records playing, the dim lighting and the wood. Lovely. Bit of a wait for my order and the place is far far too warm but I otherwise thoroughly enjoyed my time here. I must come here in short sleeves so I can stay longer without getting overheated!
View on GoogleCame in for brunch, as a person in my party wanted some drip coffee. Found this place just a short ten minute walk from our Airbnb (though it took a bit longer due to dragging our luggage through the snow). The café is located up two short flight of stairs and is very cozy, but seems very Americanized, but that's probably what they're going for. Jazz music playing gives it a nice relaxing atmosphere. Despite not having a few of the items (such as the french toast and some of the cakes), everything we got was fresh and delicious. We ordered chocolate coffee latte, cheese toast, royal ice milk tea (iced), chocolate cake, mild coffee and pizza toast, all made fresh to order. The server was very accommodating and didn't complain when we ordered extra items. Despite the steep price for drip coffee, do stop by to relax and enjoy.

View on GoogleYou can enjoy delicious coffee in a calm atmosphere, with sunlight filtering through the windows. I particularly liked the fact that they had a plate with a small assortment of baked goods, allowing you to enjoy the coffee as the main focus. This is one shop I'd like to visit again.
View on GoogleI remember this used to be Miyakoshi Coffee. Not sure if it was taken over as-is or changed owners. The staff are very nice, but the moment I opened the door, the smell of tobacco hit my nose. So many restaurants in Hokkaido allow smoking, and I'm sick of it. Especially for a place that sells delicate-tasting things like coffee and tea, I can't understand allowing cigarettes. The coffee is delicious. The food is so-so. The prices are fairly high. Maybe because it's Yamahana. If it were non-smoking I'd go, but sadly it isn't.
