A hole formed by wave erosion. I wish I could have seen what it looked like before the land reclamation〜 Finding your way close to it is a little confusing.

From the explanatory text→This hole is a “sea cave” opened by wave erosion. If you pass through the hole and look at the top of the rock from the other side, you can see rounded stones resting on it. These are terrace gravels. If you turn around, you can see a flat surface at the top of the cliff across the harbor, right? The same things have been found there too. These hills are “marine terraces.” The flat surfaces eroded long ago at the water's edge (shore) now make ideal drying grounds for 日高昆布, a specialty of this region.

This is part of the geopark associated with アポイ岳. It's a rock with a hole created by wave erosion, but apparently there is a legend about it too. Since it is inside 冬島漁港, we should take care not to inconvenience people working at the fishing port when visiting. By the way, it's a PokéStop.
