A long-established shop in Rumoi with delicious Sarashina soba. On my 1st visit, I had ebi ten soba. The Sarashina soba is delicious. On my 2nd visit, katsudon! It was so superb it made me exclaim, katsudon at a soba shop really is delicious! But the miso soup was thin and tasteless, which was disappointing (haha).

About 5 years ago, the katsudon had me delighted! Visited again on 3/5, and of course had katsudon again. It was as delicious as ever, but it might be tough for anyone who dislikes sweetness? I think the soba is out of the question. It's cheap, though. But this place is busy at lunch. Soba in Rumoi is a total washout.

The storefront really says, long-established shop! There's proper parking beside the shop too. The soba is glossy Sarashina. I ordered oroshi soba, but there wasn't that much grated daikon. There are also tempura crumbs mixed in with the grated daikon. I wished the soba had been firmed up more thoroughly in cold water. But in these times of rising prices, you can have soba affordably. The service is very pleasant too, and it's a lovely shop I hope keeps going.

2024.3 When driving along National Route 233 toward central Rumoi, it's on the right. From this direction, the shop's name written across the entire side of the building is easy to see. However, there's a central divider, so you can't enter the parking lot on the right when facing the shop. You can use the next intersection to make a U-turn on the national road, or turn right beforehand, cross the river, turn left, and loop back onto National Route 233 to enter. The prices were reasonable, and it felt like a neighborhood 'soba shop.' I think the soba is Sarashina nihachi soba. There was parking for about 5 cars beside the shop, and enough room for 3 cars in front.
