千望台Senbodai
Lies in gently rolling hills 180ｍ above sea level and is the only scenic spot offering a full view of the urban area spreading out around 留萌 Port. The 千望台 grounds include a log-cabin-style rest facility and a “statue of 五十嵐億太郎,” known as the father of the development of 留萌 Port.

Not much to do here in summer. Quite a few big flies flying around. Cafe seems to be closed. Perhaps visiting in winter might be better.
View on GoogleThis place presents an amazing view of Rumoi City. It's easy to hike and as a matter of fact can be reached by bike except during winter. I got to visit Senboudai last Feb 11. This means it is covered with snow. The hike was challenging but it was rewarding when I got on top. Heads up there might be bears in this area so better bring a bear bell.
View on GoogleWalkable paved road from Rumoi city. I was fortunate to come across a fox on the way up. Recommend visiting near sunset to get to see the night view too.
