Ramen Yamaokaya is a must-visit spot for ramen lovers, offering some of the best bowls of ramen you’ll find in Rumoi City. The store combines modern convenience with traditional hospitality—it’s already automated, making ordering quick and efficient, yet friendly staff are always on hand to assist with any needs, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. The menu features a wide variety of ramen flavors to suit every preference. While their shio ramen and classic miso ramen are popular choices, I can’t recommend their spicy miso ramen enough. The broth, made from rich and flavorful pork bone soup, is perfectly balanced with just the right amount of spice for a satisfying kick. Personally, I absolutely love the spicy miso ramen. The heat level is just right for me—enough to warm you up on a chilly day without overpowering the depth of the flavors. If you’re in Rumoi City and craving a hearty bowl of ramen, Ramen Yamaokaya is the place to go!

I visited on Mountain Day, in the time before the fireworks festival started. It was extremely crowded, but I was very impressed—no, even moved—by the service of the staff, starting with the manager. This applies to Yamaokaya in general, but first, the language they use is very good. Not just to customers, but even in conversations among the staff. And from handling customers to cooking, the manager's attentive and precise instructions. Everyone multitasked briskly yet served cheerfully and pleasantly. It was like watching some kind of sports match. I wonder if they receive some special training? Oh, and the ramen itself was Yamaokaya's usual reliable taste, an addictive flavor lol.

No smoking 🚭️ As the finale to my Rumoi sightseeing, I waited for the 10 o'clock opening and had the fairly popular shoyu negi (light on oil). As a result, both the soup and noodles were very delicious. Is the shop format the recent standard one? After two sliding doors, on the left are two cashless-compatible ticket machines and a self-service water dispenser, plus counter seats; on the right are box seats and a raised tatami area. The counter seat I sat at this time was thoroughly cleaned and felt clean, ◎ Since it isn't a 24-hour store, the lack of "morning ramen" is perhaps the only drawback?
