Located just a short walk from Rumoi Station, Ekimae Kaiei is one of those cozy ramen shops that instantly makes you feel welcome. The owner, whom many locals fondly call the ramen boss, is friendly and accommodating—always greeting customers with a warm smile and lively energy that adds to the charm of the place. I ordered the Kaiyo Special, and it was absolutely delicious. The broth had a rich, savory depth that perfectly complemented the firm noodles, while the toppings were fresh and well-balanced. You can really taste the care and passion that go into every bowl. What makes Ekimae Kaiei special isn’t just the ramen—it’s the combination of great food and genuine hospitality. It’s the kind of spot where you can enjoy a comforting meal and leave with a smile. Definitely a must-try when in Rumoi.

The relics and music from the 50’s and 60’s of the best part of American 🇺🇸 culture combined with the Japanese timber structure created a wonderful warm atmosphere. We had Kaiei Special ramen and Dragon Tiger ramen and they were truly delicious. There is a good balance in salt and richness of the broth which means one can finish the whole bowl of broth comfortably. Highly recommended if anyone is travelling through this end of village. The staff and the chef are very welcoming.

. Went there during Golden Week 2024. The area is kinda sad. The complex feels closed down. In general, the area relatively clean but Not as clean as photographed. A lot of close down shops but at least the police was literally nearby. The food is good though.

Amazing ramen broth and and generous portions of awesome tender chaashuu. The atmosphere is really cool too!
