A café in front of Rumoi Station. I still had time before heading home, so I stopped by. It's run by a married couple who manage the shop while looking after their young child. So please be considerate in various ways if you visit. They looked extremely busy when I came too… What caught my attention and I ordered was パズーの玄米パン. It's a menu item recreating Pazu's toast topped with a fried egg, which anyone who has seen Castle in the Sky is bound to long for. Naturally, it isn't just topped with a fried egg—there's cheese and bacon too, and the set comes with a salad. The yolk was runny and very delicious. The coffee is delicious too.
View on GoogleI went at lunchtime. I had a hamburger steak. There was no venison, but the single plate with salad, a small side dish, curry yakisoba, rice, and hamburger steak topped with a fried egg left me satisfied❗️ I finished with a mini soft serve after the meal.
View on GoogleThe atmosphere is nice, and it's very relaxing even when visiting with family. The soft serve was fantastic. Next time I'd like to come for a meal.
View on GoogleYou can eat pasta and ramen made with Rumoi-grown ルルロッソ wheat. The shrimp ramen is packed with shrimp flavor and lots of seafood besides shrimp, such as scallops and octopus, and is delicious. It's nice that the set includes Rumoi-style sides such as herring roe mixed with cheese (sold in souvenir shops at about the same price as カズチー, but this tastes better than カズチー and there's no purchase limit, so you can buy as many as you want) and pickled herring. For +200円, you can also add soft serve made with milk from 宇野牧場 in Teshio. The menu isn't particularly extensive, with 2 pasta varieties, 1 ramen variety, and a few plate meals, but it's a valuable place to eat ルルロッソ, which is served at few places despite being promoted as a local specialty. There's no parking, so walking from the station would be best.
View on GoogleI went around 11. Soft serve wasn't available ⟵ that could be due to machine maintenance or something, so that's fine, but being told the bread was sold out made me think, '…Huh?!' Had it sold more than expected, or do they prepare only a small amount to begin with…? The staff were nice, and the customers were chatting warmly with each other, so I think this is a place rooted in the local community.
