Authentic Indian and Nepali cuisine in Rumoi, Hokkaido. We take pride in our special "Soup Curry," which blends local bounty with spices, and our gooey "Cheese Naan," perfect for cold days. In summer, we recommend taking out our juicy "Tandoori Chicken," baked in the traditional "Bhatti" oven! It's perfect for a picnic on the Rumoi coast. Please enjoy flavors that everyone from children to adults can love. Experience the fusion of Hokkaido & Indian/Nepali flavors in Rumoi!

Family own shop. Owners welcomed us in a friendly manner. I had the chicken curry vegetable soup and chicken tikka. Chicken tikka was perfectly cooked. Curry soup was good also but it’s on the lighter side. Overall a very good experience.

Very friendly staff and great food for great prices. I especially liked the "Man's Combo". Vegetable curry was packed with vegetables and flavor and the butter chicken was really tasty.

It was a three-day weekend, but gas prices are high so I didn't go far and on the way home after finishing errands and shopping in the city I visited Aagaman Rumoi for the first time. I knew there was a branch in Fukagawa too, and it seems there's one in Sapporo as well. I can't tell whether it's a chain or just shops with the same name. It was a little past the 11:00 opening time and there were no other customers yet. A curious aroma was drifting even outside the shop. When I went in, a foreign staff member greeted me cheerfully with a welcome. There are counter seats, table seats, and a raised tatami area. I sat down and looked at the menu. Besides curry, there are also single dishes like tandoori chicken. From the soup curries I chose the chicken vegetable curry and picked spicy for the spice level. While waiting, I could hear a foreign language from the kitchen. New customers came in from time to time, and each time I heard a cheerful welcome again. After a little while the curry arrived. On top of a fairly large soup bowl I could see okra. I like okra, so that alone made me happy. The rice is turmeric rice. I started with the soup, putting my spoon into the bowl. It's quite thin and light. As for the soup, it felt quite spicy even to me, who loves spicy food. The dashi flavor is restrained and the seasoning is bold. As for vegetables, besides the okra mentioned above, I think there were cabbage, asparagus, pumpkin, carrot, lotus root, broccoli, and eggplant. Broccoli, which is often an option, was included from the start, so nearly all the vegetables you'd want are covered. There was also a boiled egg, which made me happy too. The chicken falls easily off the bone and is tender. I ate the ingredients with chopsticks while bringing the soup to my mouth. The generous amount of soup is really spicy. It's spicy, but I got somewhat used to it toward the end and was able to finish it all. Thank you for the meal, much appreciated. Also, even after getting home I could still smell the shop's curious aroma, so it may get on your clothes.

A curry shop run by people from authentic Nepal. I had the spicy soup curry. It was really spicy, but the flavor was solid and it went deliciously with the vegetables and seafood. The fried chicken (karaage) I got to take out was delicious too, and it made me want to go again. Thank you so much for the meal.

A typical Nepali curry shop run by Nepalis. Only one naan refill is free. The taste is fine, a passing grade. There's a wide variety of naan too, such as cheese naan, garlic naan, and sesame naan. The free refill is only for plain naan, but even if you ordered cheese naan or garlic naan, you can still get one plain naan refill, so no problem. (You can't order cheese naan and get a cheese naan refill.) The value sets let you choose the curry itself, and with the Men's Set you can choose two kinds of curry, including chicken vegetable curry, which is nice. It's not a chain, but it has average taste and service for this kind of shop, so in a way you can go in with peace of mind, but while it's fine for locals, it's not a place to go out of your way to visit as a tourist. The parking lot is fairly large, but there are no parking lines, so you might be unsure where to park.
