We truly had a wonderful time at the tour, and I was especially impressed by the care taken in the facilities, as well as the high-quality production and sanitary processing. Even though Yotsuba milk is nearly twice the price of Australian milk in Singapore, the tour gave us a new appreciation for it’s value—and inspired us to make the switch, something we had never considered before. Highly recommended.

I visited for a factory tour on a weekday in late August. I called at 9 that morning and was able to join the 10 o'clock tour! I found out that ミニストップ soft serve uses 四つ葉 milk—now it makes sense! On your way out, each person can choose 1 bottle of milk or café au lait! My husband and I got both between us! Thank you😊

よつ葉乳業(株)十勝主管工場 26.5.8 I went for a factory tour! Factory tours require reservations. At the end, there was a gift of café au lait or milk, and everyone also gets an eraser!

【よつ葉乳業㈱ 十勝主管工場】 『よつ葉乳業』 A dairy manufacturer headquartered in 札幌, famous for its butter. Its factories are in 宗谷, オホーツク北見, 根釧, 十勝主管, and 東京 (though, like the land of mice, it's actually in 千葉県🤭). Globally, the butter production rankings apparently run India, Pakistan, and the US, while Japan merely hovers around 25th place despite all the talk of increasingly Westernized eating habits. Well-known major Japanese manufacturers are 雪印(メグミルク), 明治, 森永, and 『よつ葉乳業』. Personally, I'd always bought butter without any particular preference, but the most recent one I picked up was 「よつ葉北海道バター加塩」. It was relatively cheap at 『オーケー』. There are 3 types: salted, reduced-salt, and unsalted (no added salt)... As someone who needs to watch out for high blood pressure, I'll pretend to care a little (lol). The salt content (salt equivalent) per 100g is ・Salted→1.6g ・Reduced-salt→0.5〜0.9g ・Unsalted→0〜0.05g That's how it breaks down. Assuming 5g per person per meal, even salted butter gives 1.6÷20=0.08g of salt. Completely negligible. Even 10g gives 0.16. That's about how much you use for gratin, enoki butter, corn butter, and various other dishes. For comparison, instant noodles (packet/cup) contain 3〜6g per serving, retort curry 2〜3.5g, pasta sauce 4〜5g, drinking snacks (dried foods) 0.6〜1.5g, snack foods. Milk, the ingredient butter is made from, contains about 0.2g per 200ml (1 glass). And unsalted butter costs about 10% more than salted.

This is a factory tour that isn't listed in travel magazines. I looked it up on Google, and since there was an opening for a reservation that day, I signed up by phone. The woman who answered was friendly, too, so I headed there looking forward to it. There was 1 other family, and the guide explained everything carefully. There were panel displays designed for children to enjoy learning, like on a school field trip. Butter and milk production lines. There was also an explanation of the foreign-material contamination incident in April…. It's not easy to come across よつば products in the Kanto area, and I hadn't even heard the news, but I thought their response, their desire to connect dairy farmers with consumers, and their corporate slogan, “The deliciousness of Hokkaido, straight to you,” were wonderful. At the end, we chose 1 carton of milk or coffee milk and received an eraser shaped like a miniature milk carton. I'll keep supporting delicious Hokkaido.
