Yummy and cheap

It's been several years since I moved from Honshu to the Kushiro area. I'd thought Tokachi meant butadon, and whenever I passed through the Tokachi area on errands toward central Hokkaido, all I did was tour various butadon shops, but recently I learned that Indian Curry is a popular soul food in Tokachi, so I stopped by. For my first visit I had the basic roux with a large serving of rice and a katsu topping. The roux was rich and thick and extremely delicious 👍 I had a freezer in my car, so I bought one case of 4 frozen packs as souvenirs, plus two each of frozen Indian-man and Indian-man cheese (lol). There seem to be two branches of the chain in Kushiro too, so I plan to go soon and try the Indian roux and the limited-quantity vegetable roux that I couldn't decide between. The basic info section on Google Maps says payment is cash only, but credit cards, transit IC cards, Edy, etc. can be used. However, it said that PayPay and d-payment cannot be used.

For some reason, the plate I eat here is my favorite. The taste is of course great, but it has a mysterious charm where satisfaction grows the more you eat. 【Deliciousness of the curry】 I've eaten at various Indian branches, but for me the Otofuke branch is my favorite. Of course other branches are delicious too, but for some reason the curry I eat here feels the most right. 【How to enjoy the katsu curry】 Especially the katsu curry. It's served on an oval silver curry plate, and personally the best bite is the one with the curry, rice, and katsu together at the edge of the plate. The katsu-curry-rice combination in the middle is delicious enough, but the very first bite starting from the right edge and the last bite you reach at the left edge are somehow exceptional. I can't explain why even to myself, but that deliciousness is addictive and I look forward to it every time. 【Atmosphere of the shop】 I can often be seated relatively smoothly, and being able to eat calmly is also something I like. It's comfortable, and it makes me want to visit again and again. It's a favorite shop I'd like to keep stopping by whenever I'm nearby.

I heard that this curry is the soul food of Obihiro people, so I bought some to bring home as a souvenir. I didn't know how to order and was looking around at the entrance, when a young staff member came and explained how to order clearly. I just went with the Indian Curry, since the limited-edition vegetable curry was sold out. What a shame, so I'm definitely coming back. The parking lot is shared with the supermarket, so it's spacious and reassuring. It was my first time having Indian Curry, but it feels somehow nostalgic. The flavor was rich and there was plenty of rice. I'm stuffed. Next time I'd like to eat inside the restaurant. Thank you for the meal.
