Beautiful atmosphere, friendly people, and the curry was delicious. I am looking forward to returning again.
View on GoogleCharming cafe. Food and ambience is nice too.
View on GoogleCute and charming, friendly owner (I assume) even tho I don't speak Japanese. You'll need Google translate if you don't have the language and don't expect a quick experience but worth the time for the ambiance and the people! Stop by for a minute and have a beverage and a snack.
View on Google🦅Washio ★ Jiro's "Cafe and Old Men" series vol.99 ☕️【Charcoal-fire Coffee】 Opened in Showa 63 (1988). It's an old-fashioned kissaten with a heavy, richly textured exterior that stands out even in the town of Zenibako, a renovation of a pawnshop storehouse made of Sapporo soft stone said to have been built in the late Taisho era. The shop is named after the pawnshop's name "Osakaya" carved into the Sapporo soft stone outer wall, and on Google it appears as "Storehouse Osakaya" ("storehouse" meaning a kura or storage house). The homey atmosphere inside, run by Mr. and Mrs. Maekura, has many regulars, and the old-fashioned Napolitan is a popular dish. Today I had the "Charcoal-fire Coffee" ☕️ The coffee, slowly roasted over charcoal, is characterized by a fragrant aroma and heavy richness. The jet-black coffee drunk from a simple cup with a pale bluish tint has a smoky flavor that suits the atmosphere of the shop. The warm air that somehow evokes nostalgia is this shop's great charm. Its location near the sea, with a view of the Sea of Japan from the small bridge in front of the shop, is also appealing, and you can enjoy a relaxing time. The jukebox inside is a product from the 1960s–70s (Showa 40s) and apparently still works today. I'd like to hear it next time. It's perfect for people who love cafes renovated from old houses or Sapporo soft stone. Be sure to visit when you come to Zenibako. Thank you for the meal ♪ (Visited March 29, 2024)
View on GoogleI visited Osakaya in Zenibako for the first time in about 20 years✨ The beautiful stone building still has its charming, nostalgic atmosphere, making it a wonderful place to relax☺️ This time, I ordered a cocoa float. It was a hot and humid day, so the cold drink with ice cream was especially refreshing and delicious🍨 The café has two floors, and I was impressed watching the staff carefully carry trays with drinks for two or three people up and down the stairs. Their balance and skill were amazing! It was nice to see that the warm atmosphere and friendly service haven’t changed over the years. I look forward to stopping by again the next time I’m in the Zenibako area. Thank you for the wonderful experience! 😋
