We visited this place to have a couple of minutes of rest before heading to the observatory deck , while ordering my coffee, the cashier mentioned that I still need one order because "1 order each person" since we're two, so I need to order 1 more, and also they don't accept suica card, pasmo and other IC cards. Better to have your coffee in Starbucks or any other coffeeshops around Otaru metro, that doesn't force you to order per person. We are really disappointed. View on GoogleI ordered café mocha. It was good. Very nice service, warm place and very good atmosphere. If you walk a lot, you should take a break here.
View on GoogleSonia Coffee - located inside Sonia Hotel itself, they sell lovely Hokkaido ice cream together with coffee and other pastries. I had a good time enjoying my coffee while enjoying the view of Otaru Canal opposite. We stayed here and therefore could drink coffee here everytime
View on GoogleReally calm and cozy place, excellent place to do zone-in and do some work. There are a number of power plugs. The prices are slightly on the more expensive side but not entirely unreasonable, they also have a range of coffee beans to choose from with different characteristics.
View on GoogleSonia Coffee is located on the wing of the hotel. They have pretty good coffee, especially in a pinch! Made the stop because we were here on a cold day and wanted something warm. It's inexpensive compared to many coffee shops in Japan, so it made me feel better about what I was being served. The black coffee is served in a French Press with a timer. The water to coffee ratios made even a lighter roast taste a bit dark. But it was still fine. The latte was one of the better ones we've had in Japan.
