When I went to see the Uminekoya exhibition, I got a direct explanation from the main character, Professor Masuyama!

I was interested in the サカナクション exhibition (free) and only happened to stop by after having lunch nearby, but the paid exhibition was more worthwhile than I expected. If time had allowed, I would have liked to take my time viewing it.

2025·R7.7.19 My first visit to 市立小樽文学館, which opened in 1978·S53 using a building constructed in 1952·S27 as "小樽貯金局" that retains traces of the "Teishin style". The permanent exhibition presents the works and lives of "石川啄木", "小林多喜二 (looking at the 「death mask」 from when he is said to have lost his life during the authorities' coercive interrogation brings tears of "anguish and frustration")", "伊藤 整", and "小熊秀雄", who have ties to 小樽, as well as "違星北斗"'s posthumous manuscript 「コタン」 and other materials. In one part of the used-book·museum corner, there is also a display of items related to "山口一郎 of サカナクション" (free viewing area). When visiting, buying the "combined ticket (800円)", which also allows you to visit "小樽美術館" in the same building, is good value.

Unfortunately, the day I went was a closed day, but the staff were kind and allowed me to look around. There are サカナクション exhibits in the free area on the building's 2nd floor. From CDs from the ダッチマン days to newspapers from the release of 怪獣, there are exhibits covering every era of サカナクション. If you're a サカナクション fan visiting 北海道, this is a place you absolutely must visit!
