This Otaru Beer deco is like in Bavaria where you can eat German sausages, pork roast and schnitzel. The freshly-made pasta was delicious. This restaurant is located next to the Otaru canal. The restaurant ground floor has many tables so you need not wait too long to be seated down. The 2nd storey has a walkway where there's a free tour of the history of this brewery. The freshly brewed beer was good. There is also non-alcoholic drinks brewed by them. Overall the food was good and price reasonable.
View on GoogleStill good quality food and very good service. However, the beer quality has been dropping down. I just left now the place disappointed, unfortunately, this place was like a dreamland for me. I have been coming here about 12 to 13 years every year at least twice. I loved the beer, atmosphere and everything. Slowly with the heavy tourist influx and change in general, the place got effected a lot. I am feeling really bad to say this but it's not the same anymore...
View on GoogleThere are 3 beers unique to this location - all of them are delicious. Food is okay - not the best German food, but you don’t come to Japan for German food so it’s okay. I tried the: - Sauerkraut - Great - Schnitzel - Average - Pretzel - Great - Variety sausage plate - Below average (they are a bit small) Overall a nice place. As a tourist, the standout is the beer - you can visit this place just to drink as well (you don’t have to order food).
View on GoogleThe restaurant is located in a beautiful building. You actually don’t need to dine here to visit (you can tour the upper areas). The food is ok, typically beer hall food. Spacious seating and friendly service. Skip the food if you dont particularly like it. We made a reservation thru autoreserve and felt didn’t need to (there was no queue when we visited at night). Nonetheless, it was good to visit for viewing of the historical building.
View on GoogleFreshly brewed Otaru Beer hits differently in Hokkaido, rich malt, silky foam, and that cozy beer hall energy that makes you want to stay for ‘just one more. Food was simple but full of flavor, sausages were juicy ,first time to have sauerkraut warm. Staff eete okay. The interior was og german berr place complete with the microbrewery at vats inside. Staff was nice. They also have a robot assisting with food taken to your table.
