Visited this place on a weekday around 11.30am. No queuing needed. Restauarant had around 4-5tables of customer. Service was prompt and was able to converse in basic English. Service was quick. Food was very good, had the chance to try the seasonal flying fish sashimi. The Scallop sashimi and boiled crab with Kani Miso was out of this world. The rice used on the sushi is well balanced. Dishes were served with a small amount of seaweed as a side. Experienced another level of Uni Sushi here! Free parking for customer only right beside the shop.

The negative reviews do not correspond with my experience, perhaps they were from a specific time and type of customer. This was the best seafood from a 7-day trip. The service may be average by Japanese standards, but very reasonable by any other.

I ordered the uni-don, which was listed as 6600 yen, and was asked if 7000 yen was alright because prices have been up recently. I said yes, but the bill came out to 7700 yen, and when I asked about the difference, the maitre’d said “There’s consumption tax too, you know,” and I felt a little patronised. I wish they had been more apologetic about the misunderstanding. The flavour of the uni also wasn’t quite as deep and rich as at another place nearby (it was actually a little bland), although I can understand why that would happen given the quantity of uni necessary for a whole rice bowl. It was listed as “superior uni-don” (特上生ウニ丼)which feels incongruent with the flavour I actually experienced. Overall I feel a bit ripped off.

I am so happy I went here. I was looking for a traditional sushi place that didn't kill the budget but had great sushi. Boy did it exceed my expectations. I had been wanting to get some Hokkaido Uni so I got a bowl full. The uni was so fresh and tasty. The nigiri were sizable, chilled, fresh and delicious. The sushi chef was great in making some suggestions. My only regret was that I had to leave early to meet other people. I look forward to going back!! What a great sushi bar!!!

Our family just walk into the restaurant without reservation, have a little trouble because no english menu, luckily wife and kids can speak basic japanese. The old lady chef owner is very kind and heart warming. Quality of the Sashimi is excellent, very fresh and the size of every slice is very generous. Will come again . Thank you Chef owner
