unassuming sushi restaurant away from the bustle of the main streets. what a gem! we got the 10-piece omakase and thoroughly enjoyed it. owner is a sweet japanese sushi chef who doesn't speak english but don't let that stop you. let the food do the talking~ came midday in October without making a reservation and the restaurant was fairly empty. only saw a few other japanese customers. so fresh and delicious. would love to come back
View on GoogleTruly a gem within Otaru. I highly recommend this restaurant for an authentic Japanese omakase. The menu is completely in Japanese; however you can just tell the chef you want the 10 piece omakase and he’ll understand that in English👍 We ordered that 10 piece omakase - consists of such good pieces of fish, so tender and juicy (Loved the shrimp, Fatty Tuna, and Uni) After the 10-piece was served, we also ordered a few more dishes such as the seaweed wrapped sushi and re-ordered a few of the nigiri served in the omakase. I recommend for those non-Japanese speakers, to just show the chef images of certain types of nigiri or sushi you want for it to be more effective. The chef understand minimal English, but he is friendly and understanding. Noteworthy detail: - the opening time on Google maps is incorrect. The chef opens mostly during noon and meal-times, but if he runs out of fish or ingredients early on in the day, he may close the restaurant for the rest of the day👌🏻
View on GoogleHad the best sushi here. They have a huge variety, everything tasted so buttery and fresh. Prices are reasonable. I would absolutely come back. You can use the chat on Google maps to make a reservation
View on GoogleOlder gentleman running the joint was great. Quiet at first, opened up once we started using the translator. Fish was very fresh, and the guy has been skiing since he was five years old so you know he’s an absolute G. Way cheaper than all the other Omakase joints
View on GoogleVery nice homey sushi place in Otaru near the sketchy bar districts. The omakase 10pc was great and they didn't hold back on premium items like uni, toro and awabi
