We were here for an early lunch and didn’t have to wait to enter. The place was larger than I expected and the atmosphere created by the kerosene lamps and wooden furnishings was one of a kind. The food was decent too. I visited in May and I think visiting in winter time would have made the experience even more magical.
View on GoogleThe atmosphere is amazing. It’s quiet and very relaxing. There is a slight kerosene smell, but it wasn’t bothersome. I came right when they opened in the morning, so there was no waiting. I highly recommend the milk tea ice cream.
View on GoogleGreat visit and amazing glass work. Especially the drinking glasses and jewelry on the second floor. Worth a visit to explore but didn’t go for the cafe since the line was too long.
View on GoogleCosy interiors, too bad the piano performance was cancelled when we visited. Royal milk tea was good but too sweet
View on GoogleA very charming little coffee shop with an incredibly calming atmosphere. I am someone prone to travel anxiety and just walking into the café calmed my mind down. The rustic (almost Victorian) design and the gentle flickering of the lights encourages a more muted conversation volume and helps lend a more soulful and almost dream-like vibe to the café. The food was pretty good but the culinary highlight was 100% the various ice creams on the menu. I had the Salmon Roe bowl and the Chocolate Sundae and Soft Serve Ice Cream bowl and I was almost tempted to get another sundae before I left. I don't know if I will ever get a chance to return to Otaru but I would like to come back here one day.
