かりーごや is my wife's favourite restaurant in Hokkaido. She has been going here for years and now I know why. The soup curry is light but full of flavour. I've always found it remarkable how they produce an amazing product consistently. What I love about かりーごや is the balance between the spice and flavour, a rarity in Japan.

This Bangladeshi curry with a Japanese twist (or should it be the other way around?) is a fantastic perk me up after braving the cold at the horse ranch just up the mountain. They serve Japanese short grained rice along with the curries but it was put together beautifully. A refreshing change from the thick japanese curry we’ve been used to. The restaurant is run by a Bangladeshi chef who explained the menu in English and a friendly Japanese Maitre D. We were warmly welcomed into their cozy restaurant even though we pushed our luck by arriving 20 minutes before the official opening time. It was very much appreciated!

Fantastic soup curry. We were headed back from Otaru and wanted to try the last food bucket item. This place was close and well rated. Soup base is top notch, ingredients cooked to perfection. If you have never tried soup curry stop here and if love it stop here too.

Visited once about 20 years ago I wanted to eat the gizzard curry They said they no longer do roux curry now (;;) So, soup curry then!! I chose the highest spice level among the free ones Next time I'll go for Super Spicy 1 The taste is very much to my liking Delicious It soaks in I slowly broke a sweat, but it's really light and easy to eat Solid ingredients, I was satisfied and full I'd like to try the roux someday too, but it seems the master's arm is injured... I hope it gets better soon I want to go one or two more times during this long visit home Both Pole Pole and the Gotanda udon? also have that light, smooth feel, and it reminded me that I like smooth, light soup curry lol Honestly, despite a location like this, it has kept going for so long, and there are quite a few customers and takeout orders too, I'm impressed—it's delicious, so of course everyone comes all the way here!!!
