Showa era cafe that opened in Showa 8. Inside it is dark, the cafe smells of decades of smoking, and even today the waitress brings an ashtray. The decor is bewildering: tens of lamps, ships wheels, and other artefacts litter the interior. In the background a selection of the classics is played. The cash till is from the 1950s. Coffee is good. The cake selection is OK but really it is the experience of enjoying something authentically old fashioned that is the draw. (For some reason they don’t like customers taking photos.)

Beautiful place for a relaxing cuppa. Incredible ship orientated decor with wonderful relics such as oil lanterns and these gorgeous model ships. Enjoy the classical music as you dunk your tradional Japanese cake in your marvellous tea cup. Even getting to the toilet was a peaceful experience. Highly recommend visitng!

When it’s snowing outside, you know this is a good place to keep yourself warm with a nice hot cup of coffee. The ambience is lovely and I know you will be relaxed and enjoy listening to the classical music that plays as you enjoy your cup of coffee!

Please do NOT take pictures. Just come in and QUIETLY enjoy fascinatingly delicious toast and good coffee with Chopin's piano music. Super relaxed place. Full of Showa atmosphere.
