Our experience at Isezushi was the star-highlight of our trip to Japan. Every course served by our incredibly talented Omakase Chef was perfection; he is truly a culinary artist. We absolutely enjoyed our conversation with him and felt so lucky to dine alongside the local people. We all had so much fun. It is impossible to choose a favorite dish, as everything was exceptional. The only downside is that coming home to Florida, we know we’ll never be able to look at sushi in America the same way again after having The Absolute BEST at Isezushi! We will be dreaming of the food from here! A charming, unforgettable experience. Thank you so much 🙏🏽

This meal single-handedly saved what would have otherwise been a truly horrible experience in Otaru. From the moment we sat down, it was clear that the chef genuinely cares about his guests, regardless of whether they are Japanese or not. That level of warmth and attentiveness is sadly rare in Otaru, which made this experience feel even more meaningful. The food itself was magnificent. Thoughtful, precise, and deeply respectful of the ingredients. But what truly set this place apart was the atmosphere created by the kindness and friendliness of the staff. The warmth in the room was palpable, and it transformed the meal into something unforgettable. It was not just about eating, it was about being welcomed. I have eaten at some of the best Michelin-starred restaurants in the world, and this stands among the top dining experiences I have ever had, regardless of whether it appears on any list. The soul of this place is unmistakable. You feel it in the presentation, in the craft, in the ingenuity, and most of all in the generosity of spirit behind every dish. If I could eat here all over again, I absolutely would. Without hesitation. I can’t wait to come back and visit. Many thanks to the Chef Shinchan.

Visited in October 2025 for the ¥9,775 dinner omakase booked through JPNEAZY. While the sushi was good and fresh, the service left much to be desired. As the only foreigner in the dining room I was sat in, the sushi chef made me feel like an afterthought compared to all the Japanese guests. I also got the impression that I wasn't "reacting" enough to the chef's liking, as he kept asking me over and over if it was good, despite me insisting every time that everything was delicious. At the beginning the chef also seemed annoyed that I didn't initially want to order any drinks (I'd just had a bunch of drinks at a nearby bar while waiting for my reservation). Maybe the experience would have been better with one of their other sushi chefs, but based on the experience I had, I wouldn't fully recommend Isezushi to foreigners.

My wife and I went there to celebrate my birthday and as part of our search for the finest Omakase Sushi dinner and WOW it’s about the finest we have ever had . And the value for money puts it in a class by itself.. The Sushi Master took time to explain about special dishes and communicated in the friendliest way throughout the meal, even though needed translation app. We had 15 pieces and all were superb.. This restaurant should be on every true sushi lovers must visit list in Otaru.. It is that special 😍🙏

Loved the experience. Intimate and engaging. The chef made sure I understood everything in English. Super kind service. They even prepared a set up for when we arrive to the restaurant to find our names engraved on a piece of paper right on the table were you are meant to sit
