It’s a small mom and pop shop. They only speak Japanese but they were very willing to work with my broken Japanese and Google Translate. Everything was very fresh. Looks like the got bar seating for 3, a separate room for for 4, and an upstairs area for about 7-8? It was cash only when I went and they do seem to focus on reservations only. It was raining when I went so luckily I was able to grab a seat. My belly was very full after eating here. These folks were great. I’ll be coming back next time and hopefully speaking more Japanese.

April 2024: Used the 2nd-floor seating for a banquet It's in the Hanazono area; going up to the 2nd floor from the nice-looking entrance, there was a tatami room serving as a banquet venue for about 20 people. Every dish was delicious, drinks came quickly, and the prices were reasonable, so if you're having a drinking party with a bit over 10 people in Otaru City, I think this place is pretty much the best choice.

There were young staff members whose service was very good, and they smiled, which left a great impression. The shop's atmosphere is based on a Japanese style and feels calming. This time I had a course meal, so next time I'd like to try ordering my favorite dishes à la carte.

Otaru's seafood was really delicious and I was satisfied. I also never imagined I could eat Kumamoto basashi in Hokkaido, so I'm glad I got to try it.
