Highly recommended for a brief tea or coffee break while waiting for your train. This charming café is right outside Otaru Station, making it incredibly convenient—and a true local favourite. The café was filled with locals, which is always a reassuring sign. When locals queue up and linger, you know you’ve found a good place 😊. We enjoyed delicious pastries, beautifully balanced—not overly sweet—and heavenly strong coffee that’s deeply satisfying, especially on a cold, snowy day. The coffee is robust and aromatic, the kind that gently wakes you up rather than overwhelms you. A gentle reminder for first-time visitors: café rules apply—one item per person. Ice water is provided free, which is thoughtful and very Japanese. What truly stood out was the service. The lady at the counter was clearly passionate about her work, and the staff who served us greeted us with genuine smiles, creating a sense of warmth and comfort that felt especially meaningful against the winter chill. If you have time before your train departs, come here just for a short tea break, sit by the window, and enjoy the quiet rhythm and scenery of Otaru Station. A simple, lovely moment done right. ☕🍰❄️
View on GoogleNice and quiet location just beneath dormy inn in front of otaru station. I had the apricot cake (very delicious) along with some iced coffee.
View on GoogleWe ordered a cafe au lait (latte) $650 yen per cup and it was extremely hot (70 degrees). Usually you don’t serve latte this hot and you can tell from the photo that they can’t froth milk in order to make a proper latte. And of course they burnt the coffee. Also if you don’t order one dish or cup per person, they won’t serve you water and potentially ask you to leave the store. Would not recommend if you order milk coffee.
View on GoogleI recommend you to try a cake and coffee from this cafe. The location is across from Otaru train station. Even if the staff cannot understand English, it is not a problem.
View on Googlevery nice coffee and strawberry cake. Cream was very soft and light.
