tourists, be cautious. we were denied service even though the place was empty besides 2-3 people and definitely open. hopefully the host's attitude is different if you know at least some japanese

2026/07 Visited for lunch on the weekend. There were no other customers when I entered, so I had the place to myself. All the raised seating was tatami-style, so I sat at the counter. There was an ashtray in front of me. When reading reviews, I had been wary because information suggested smoking was allowed, but luckily there were no other smoking customers. I ordered the morimori set from the menu. What arrived was a set with hamburger steak, ２ fried shrimp, ３ pork tenderloin cutlets, salad, and spaghetti arranged on one large plate. It looked very generous. Both the fried shrimp and tenderloin cutlets were crisp and delicious. The cutlets were tender. The tartar sauce was homemade. Was the hamburger steak 100% beef? It was very meaty. The sauce was delicious too, making this a set that goes perfectly with rice. It feels more like fried food and hamburger steak from a set-meal shop than something from a stylish Western-style restaurant. I enjoyed it very much. Thank you for the meal. Perhaps they also do catering; the kitchen staff were preparing food the whole time. I paid in cash. It was fine this time because there were no other customers, but I might not have been able to tolerate it if someone had been smoking. I question dining places that still allow smoking these days. It is a shame when the taste and prices are good.
