Tessen-ike Spring Pond (鉄泉池) is an interesting natural spot inside Noboribetsu Jigokudani Valley. The small pond contains hot, mineral-rich water heated by volcanic activity underground. Steam rises from the pond, and the bubbling water shows that the area is still active. The rocky land, strong sulfur smell, and surrounding forest create a very unusual atmosphere. It is a nice place to stop, observe the volcanic scenery, and take photos. The pond can be reached by following the walking path through Jigokudani Valley. Some parts of the trail may be uneven, wet, or slippery, so comfortable shoes are recommended. Visitors should stay behind the safety barriers because the water is extremely hot. Tessen-ike Spring Pond is a small but memorable attraction. It is worth visiting while exploring Jigokudani Valley, especially for anyone interested in nature, geology, and volcanic landscapes.

This is a well paced path to walk from the entry point to this viewing hot spring area. Day time is crowded with tourists. At night, the path is well lit and its cooling to walk in the evening with less crowd. We visited both in the day, as well as at night to enjoy the day and night view.

Iron Spring Pond (鉄泉池) is a small but fascinating natural feature that offers a quiet and unique experience. Located at the end of a short walkway, the pond is constantly bubbling with mineral-rich water, creating a soothing and almost mystical atmosphere. The rich, rusty color of the water, caused by the high iron content, adds to the pond’s distinctive charm.

This pond is very small I've seen Cooler ponds before like in Beppu 7 Hells. But if you're here for the hell Valley you can go and see it.

Buy all bus tickets in advance or keep like 5-6k yen in change with you so that you won't get trapped in the middle of nowhere. The springs were neat but it was raining quite a bit and washed out the colors in the pond/streams. Might be more fun if they had more geology style educational signs and Information around.
