Visited 2026/4/27 Not open for entry You can only view it from the walking trail

Over the past few years, because of the danger from ongoing active eruptions of high-temperature mud, the area has remained closed to entry for safety.

This was my first visit on July 13, 2024, but it was still closed with a "No Entry" sign. Since the geyser became active on November 5, 2016 (Heisei 28), the path to the viewing area has been inaccessible. (I feel like I can hear it) Will the day ever come when the restriction is lifted? I look forward to that day.

A morning side adventure out of the tour guide's control. Although I already knew this attraction was closed, I still wanted to come and look around. Continue along the other fork to reach the natural foot bath.

I could not find a spot with a good view from the Oyunuma River walking trail. There was a gate that only monitoring staff could enter. It seems to be closed at present.
