Located at the 550 m summit, Noboribetsu Bear Park lets you observe the Ezo brown bear, a representative of Hokkaido, up close. There is plenty to see, starting with the popular "bear feeding experience," the "Bear Athletics" where you can learn about the bears' physical abilities and habits in a fun way, the "Duck Race" that everyone from children to adults can enjoy, and the "Human Cage" where you can watch the bears up close through glass. Loved the Bear Park. You travel up in a gondola to get to the park. Cost about 3,200 yen per adult. There's a bear club enclosure which is super cute, 2 other adult bear enclosures where you can see the bears and feed them treats. There's also a show where you see a bear find hidden treats and a duck race. The museum is interesting and you can get a stamp as well.
View on GoogleI visited this incredible bear park with my wife and parents in April 2013! Taking the cable car up to the mountain offered breathtaking panoramic views. Watching the brown bears beg for food and wave their paws was amazing. A super fun experience for the whole family!
View on GoogleNoboribetsu Bear Park is a fun place to visit. The entrance fee is ¥3,200 per person, including the return cable car ride. It’s not cheap, but we felt it was worth the price. Seeing the bears up close was a great experience, and the cable car ride also offered beautiful views. A nice place to visit when exploring Noboribetsu!
View on GoogleReally enjoyed our visit to Noboribetsu Bear Park. The cable car ride up was already quite fun, with some nice views along the way. The baby bears were definitely the highlight for me. They were running around, play-fighting, and just being adorable. We probably spent more time watching them than anything else. The adult bears were huge and surprisingly smart when trying to get treats from visitors. There's also a nice lookout over Lake Kuttara. Glad we made the trip up!
View on GoogleHave to take a cable car up the mountain to the bear park. Since it's up a mountain, the weather is cooler and better for the brown bears. Ticket price is expensive at 3200 yen for a round trip up and down to the park. Like what some other reviews mention, the park facilities look old and worn, hopefully they can repaint the buildings to give it a fresh look. Other than bears, they also have squirrels and duck racing. They have an exhibit on Ainu people, Bear museum, and a fantastic view of Lake Kuttara.
