The Katakura residence is a good display of how a Samurai would live in the Edo period. The compound has the shrine, house where samurai would live, garden and most interesting is the remaining TV set for a popular show. A very nice experience.

A very beautiful building and courtyard, with weapons displays and explanations inside too!

This is a recreation of the residence of Date Masamune’s strategist ─ Katakura Kojuro, with a distinctive Japanese garden within the residence, and many weapons and suits of armor from the Sengoku period displayed inside.

It is at the very back of Noboribetsu Date Jidaimura. It has displays of arms and armor and places to take photos. The garden also seems to be one of the highlights.
