If you are a tourist, you don’t need to go as the old lady doesn’t welcome any non-Japanese customers even you speak Japanese. We were told to keep quiet but the Japanese of the next table were even talking louder. Why don’t they just put a sign outside saying “Japanese Only”? Wasted our time to pay a visit and waste their good food.

It would seem that many people have experienced prejudice like myself. The “sick” feeling of being denied entry by the old auntie is slightly lessened by the many reviews i read here with the same feeling. Food is also about experience. Clearly the restaurant has too many customers otherwise they would not exist. Niseko town is my home to be lied to by the shop keeper to deny entry when i am looking to support local business is a sad short sightness by the owner. Niseko town is an international place with outstanding local produce and incredible young dynamic local culture that is inspiring. The old school xenphobia in this shop represents everything that is bad about japan. I hope that this message and other poor reviews will serve to start a movement against the culture of this shop to one which is more inclusive whilst remaining respectful of BOTH sides customer and owner. Why be in food business if you only like very few types of people?? A real chef and owner celebrates their skill with food and the love and joy they can bring to people and the world.

A hidden spot in ニセコ It seems the owner wants a quiet shop. So visitors with small children cannot enter, and mobile phone and smartphone use is prohibited Went in and ordered The soba is delicious, of course, but the tuna rice bowl is very delicious.😄 This time I returned on 2023年10月4日 I asked the proprietress whether I could photograph just the food, and she smiled and gave permission. The interior was quiet, and I could take my time eating.😄

A dedicated handmade soba shop that changes the source of its soba flour with the seasons. They vary the noodle thickness for cold and hot soba, so both are delicious. The small bowl of bluefin tuna, sourced together with the sushi shop next door run by their eldest son, is exceptionally high quality. Partly due to infection-prevention measures, the shop seats only about 6〜7 people, so bringing children and taking photographs are prohibited. They aren't being haughty; it seems to be consideration to avoid keeping customers waiting, and the wife is very pleasant.

I visited because I heard they served soba and tuna, but before we entered, someone from the shop came out and said small children couldn't enter because the shop was small. My son in sixth grade wasn't allowed. We had come from far away and didn't know it was that kind of shop, so it was disappointing. We went to a nearby soba shop and enjoyed a delicious meal there!
