It hurts me to make this review but I would say pass on this place. It is NOT omakase. We were really excited to try an omakase spot but what we got instead was a set menu that our Australian server brought out and did her best to describe the dish. Some courses were brought out together (I would say the tofu dish and the hummus dish should not have been served together) and then our next dish wasn’t served for another 35 min. (Poorly coursed out). They served tortilla chips with the hummus. The worst part for us was the oysters. They weren’t served chilled, but on rocks to look like ice. They were room temperature and SO chewy. After we ate them we assumed they must’ve been cooked, although they didn’t look cooked. When we asked the server she said they were indeed RAW. after that we were nauseous and that ruined the rest of the meal. Warm, raw oysters…. Not safe. There may have been a misunderstanding but that was enough for us. Our server also described yuzu as “a spicy pepper”…. And yogurt for dessert.. nothing authentic about this joint. Overall this place is overpriced for what it served.
View on GoogleAlthough their omakase set menu has some delicious dishes, certain choices such as fries and fried chicken (not karaage) don’t quite live up to this kind of cuisine. Although the beef was delicious, it wasn’t something you couldn’t get somewhere else. A welcome surprise was the honey tofu cheese, although it felt like a mismatch with the rest of the items. Worth the visit but not worth the price
View on GoogleBooked weeks in advance, from remote, to lock down a Christmas eve group dinner with friends closeby our hotel. They advertised it as an "Omakase Set Menu" - 14K Yen (76 Euro) per person excluding drinks and service charge. VERY steep pricing (we ended up paying 105 Euro p/p...), but we took the plunge as it was Christmas eve. Overall, I can speak for the whole group and say this: • "Omakase" is a word they shouldn't even whisper by mistake. • Presentation/service was very weak, more like fast food style. • Ambience was decent, and could have been fine if everything else hadn't been so poor. • Food selection was weak (fries was one of the "omakase"dishes...) but food itself wasn't bad. Problem is that you can't get over the price you're paying, for that selection + presentation. We can stomach the "fail", and laughed about it throughout dinner. Families saving money to take their kids on holiday, would have a harder time doing so. To the management of Lucky Fingers I say: Do Better. To the guests in the Annapuri area, look out for Karabina or other nicer and much better priced options. Our hotel room neighbor shared a similar experience at this venue, so I doubt we were just "unlucky". Merry Christmas Everyone!
View on GoogleAbsolutely my favorite restaurant! The staff is great, super fun and makes you feel at home. The food is phenomenal, I’m pretty sure throughout the week I’ve tried everything on the menu and it’s all been great. The Wagyu and the Hanger Steak have been a daily must have. Thank you all so much for the amazing food and service!
View on GoogleGreat japanese restaurant in Annapuri with a bar and friendly service. We had a la carte as the set menu has 11 courses and is simply too much food for us. The hanger steak is my favourite but All the dishes we had were wonderful and refined, venison stew, sushi, bream carpaccio, and kale salad. It has two seating 6 pm and 8 m so be early so you are not disappointed. Highly recommended !
