We sell carp arai (washed carp sashimi), pond smelt (wakasagi) tsukudani, and other seasonal and local products. Product news and days off are posted on Instagram. For the carp arai, it may sell out after 4 o'clock, so please reserve by phone. When arai is available, a banner flag is displayed in front of the shop, so look for it. Carp tastes good and is good for your body. Please be sure to make koikoku (carp miso soup) with the free carp scraps (ara) and enjoy it.

December 5, 2024. Visited just before closing time. Ever since I found the "wakasagi tsukudani" made here simply with just starch syrup, soy sauce, and brown sugar, I can't buy it anywhere else. Personally, I prefer the smaller fish over the larger ones. They seem to have mail order too, but I'm an analog person who wants to see the goods and choose (from what's on display, I deliberately pick the ones with more small sizes), so I buy at the shop while chatting with the staff. It can also be frozen, so I always buy in bulk. By the way, the "carp arai" was sold out, and the next sale is apparently after the 20th of this month.

2024.05 When I bought the carp arai, they gave me so many scraps (ara) that it was almost more like the scraps were the main item. I ate the arai with the included vinegared miso. There was no fishy smell at all, it had a great texture, and it was very delicious. I made koikoku (carp miso soup) with the scraps they gave me, and that was delicious too.

Today I visited this place that I'd been curious about since I was young. I had only seen what carp arai is on YouTube and had never eaten it. Not knowing is truly a scary thing. For the first time in my life I ate real carp arai prepared by a craftsman. ...It's too delicious! Tuna is nothing compared to it! There's no fishy smell and no small bones, though maybe I just didn't notice, and it has a sweetness that goes perfectly with the mustard vinegared miso 👌 I regret how many times I passed by when it's this delicious! Owner! Lady staff! I'll come again from Sapporo! I should have bought the big one, not the small one 💦 Even if I had two big ones, I think I'd finish them in no time 😋 The ara, made as I was taught, is seriously delicious too! Today my life is rosy! Thank you, Miyazaki Koiya!

2024.8.3 First visit at around 9:17. I bought carp arai. No muddy smell, crunchy and superb ^_^ The homemade mustard vinegared miso sauce that comes with it has a tingly kick that gets addictive. The leftover sauce was also good on cucumber and octopus. The koikoku made with the free carp head and bones (ara), water, and miso has a surprisingly delicious, rich broth. It turned out fine by following the recipe they give you at checkout.
