A brief pit stop in the middle of the drive from Otaru to Tomamu. We tried the miso, shio and shouyu ramen amongst us. Good enough to refuel the body for the rest of the drive.

Mid-June 2026 A lot of roadside stations near Sapporo get really crowded, since they are easy for visitors from heavily populated Sapporo to reach, don't they~ 「道の駅マオイの丘公園」 in Naganuma is one of those hugely popular roadside stations. Ever since it opened, it has had a row of tenant shops selling local vegetables and such alongside the main building, and that row is incredibly popular too! That row is 「マオイの丘ファーマーズマーケット」, renovated in 2023. Before the renovation—the roadside station opened in 1997, so was it about 25 years ago?—I really loved the 「あげいも」 sold in one corner back then and went back several times~♪ But a few years later, I stopped seeing that あげいも here, and in Umeshiro's heart it became a legendary あげいも… But! When I visited the other day, there seemed to be あげいも at a new shop… ＿＿＿＿マオイの丘茶屋＿＿＿＿ I had a good feeling and spontaneously bought some to eat in♪ 【あげいも】 This is what you call a miraculous reunion! The delicious potato inside and the coating's just-right, faint, restrained sweetness… So delicious that it slipped effortlessly into a stomach that had been taking in ナポリタンスパゲティ, メロンソフト, 饅頭, and きのこ汁 since lunchtime! And while あげいも from some shops can leave you with heartburn or a heavy stomach, this had absolutely no heaviness♪ Thank you for the meal~♪

At マオイの丘茶屋, located on the grounds of the マオイの丘公園 roadside station, I ordered ジンから定食. It is かねひろジンギスカン made into karaage. It was not crisp, but it tasted of the marinated jingisukan sauce and was pretty good! I want to try the ramen and soba too, so I will go again.

My first visit😃✌️ Even when Google Maps said it was open, the shutters were always closed, so I thought the opening status was a scam, but it was finally open😂😂😂 Today I chose ジンギスカン定食👌 The sauce was insanely sweet😱😱😱 On top of that, the jingisukan and bean sprouts were cold, even though the pumpkin, potatoes, eggplant on the side, and soup were hot😂😂😂 Strange🙈🙈🙈 After trying it once, there will not be a next time😰😰😰

A shop opened by 有限会社 高田商事, which operates レストランかねひろ. Not particularly delicious, just ordinary. I do not recommend it.
