Amazing tonkatsu ( fried pork cutlet ) restaurant. The menu, as you'd expect, focuses on tonkatsu meal sets and rice bowls as well as a few variations. There is also a chicken katsu, fried shrimp and Hokkaido fried chicken set. The restaurant is down a small lane but has a large sign out front, of course, in Japanese but a phone translation app will take care of that. Same with the menu. The staff are super friendly and helpful, they asked if I was okay with chopsticks and checked that I knew about the katsu sauce and mustard. The restaurant has Japanese table and counter seating. The tonkatsu was cooked to perfection and so juicy, it was a joy to eat. The only problem is do I order the same thing when I go back or try something different.
View on GoogleReally amazing tonkatsu place run by friendly elderly woman and a man. The shop owners are very thoughtful and made our experience as foreigners super comfortable. One tissue box and one flask of water at each counter. We felt so welcome :’) The food was really amazing too! I ordered a katsudon and husband ordered a curry katsu. Both are super delicious. Comes with 2 side dishes and a soup. Might have been the best katsu I’ve eaten in my life! We’re glad we popped in here. Do note menu is only in Japanese (that’s how you know the food will be good!) + might be cash only.

View on GoogleI visited on a Sunday evening in July 2026. Parking is in a shared lot a little way off. A shop with an old-fashioned atmosphere: 4 counter seats, 1 raised tatami table for 4, and 1 raised tatami table for 3. I ordered the pork chop curry and kushikatsu. I was surprised by the curry, which was too big to fit on the tray. Compared with the curry the kushikatsu looks small, but it's plenty of volume. It seems to be a popular shop, with phone reservations for over a dozen people. The okami-san serves with kindness all the way. As I left she said "Please take care~" (^o^)
View on GoogleA shop I used to go to in my university days. I ordered the pork chop after the sauna. It's abnormally tender. Insanely good. And when I shoveled in the rice, the rice was good too. I was soothed by the mother's kind service, and finished it while immersed in sentimentality. A shop I want to keep going forever. I'll go again.
