One might be fooled by the modest size of its façade, for several steps within reveals a decently sizeable parlor, with a tablecount to boot. But its rustic nature is unmistakable; it's a beautifully-preserved coffeeshop that has no doubt aged, but aged like wine; it's an exhibition of a bygone era placed dead-centre in Muroran, itself whose best days are perhaps behind it, but whose legacy windingly continues. Being seated here is an almost poetic experience, one paired well with a house blend and a piping hot bowl of master's oshiruko.
View on GoogleOne of my favorite places in Muroran! Great old Showa feel and wonderful desserts. I arrange my meal times around their opening hours. Super attentive service and just very relaxing all around.
View on GoogleA long-established traditional coffeehouse in 室蘭 that has maintained its unchanged style for many years. This space, which has quietly watched the town change, warmly welcomes visitors with evocative furnishings and a peaceful atmosphere the moment they step inside. Flavorful offerings and time that flows at a leisurely pace Beyond its extensive light-meal menu, what particularly stands out is the perfect harmony between 「slightly bitter coffee」 and 「sweet treats」. One could hardly find a better place to forget the bustle of everyday life and enjoy the passing time alongside a blissfully sweet moment.
View on GoogleI went to a café I'd wanted to visit for years, solely to eat プリンパフェ. Last time I arrived after closing, but this time I arrived before opening (lol). I parked in the free parking lot at 中央町商店街 and wandered around nearby until opening time. Entering a place you've spent years thinking you'd visit someday is surprisingly nerve-racking. When I opened the door, one customer was already reading a newspaper at a table. There was no sign of the staff, which made me even more nervous. I wasn't sure whether I could sit wherever I liked and was fidgeting with an awkward expression when the customer reading the newspaper told me, 「You can sit wherever you like (lol)」. A little later, a staff member came out from the back. First, I ordered coffee. There was something labeled 美鈴コーヒー inside, so just as I was thinking it was probably 美鈴コーヒー⋯, the coffee arrived. 「⋯(´-﹏-`;)Hmm…」 A rather questionable taste and aroma (lol). Honestly, the coffee wasn't particularly to my personal liking. Then I ordered what I'd really come for, プリンパフェ. It was simply tasty. I like the atmosphere, so once I've made the rounds of 英國屋 across the street and other places I'm curious about, I'll visit again (*^^*)
View on GoogleAfter finishing my errand, I had time before my bus home, so I looked for a café and stopped here. Stepping inside reveals a retro Showa-era world, as though you've traveled back in time. The building may be old, but the sofas and tables are clean, and the interior feels well kept too. I only intended to have a cup of coffee, but got caught up in the nostalgia and had 『プリンパフェ』. Enjoying an old-fashioned sweet treat in a space where time moves slowly felt soothing.
