Muroran Public Aquarium may not be the biggest or most modern aquarium, but that's exactly part of its charm. It has a nostalgic feel that takes you back to simpler times, making it a fun and unique experience. We enjoyed seeing the local marine life and watching the playful seals and penguins. The exhibits are straightforward and easy to explore, making it a relaxing visit rather than an overwhelming one. What stood out most was how family-friendly and affordable the aquarium is. The aquarium sits on a hill overlooking the sea, so you also get beautiful coastal views during your visit. If you're in Muroran and looking for a laid-back attraction with a bit of old-school charm, Muroran Public Aquarium is worth stopping by.

There are really cute penguins and seals there! Singular sea lions and some old school rides available, seems like you’ve to pay separately for the rides! 400 yen for entry, some of the rides are 200yen for each turn. Really enjoyed the aquariums as there were so species of marine creatures in the Japan sea but some of the tanks looked a bit too packed/ or too small :(

Excellent penguin parade experience. Came on Monday 11.00, not too many people. A fairly small but only cost 400 yen for entry.

Great recreational place. Great fish tanks. Best to watch when the fish are fed. But the main attraction is a very intelligent well trained seal. The instructor of the animal, performs show time with the seal. I didn’t expected in the beginning the show may be that great, but I was really pleased/ surprised. This place should be Muroran’s one of the best hot spots, mostly because of the great seal show performance.

Wouldn't recommend this place, it feels like an amusement park with a few fish thrown in.
