Visited around lunchtime on Saturday. A woman in traditional Japanese clothing showed us to a private room on the 2nd floor. Nice atmosphere(^^)d We ordered 日替り御膳 and ヒレカツ御膳. The main dish in 日替り御膳 was sashimi, but instead of tuna or salmon, it was scallop sashimi, my wife's favorite. The pork fillet katsu was touching the vegetable salad, so the vegetables' moisture and dressing spoiled its crispness a little. Raising the katsu off the plate or some similar arrangement would have helped. The head chefs at other Japanese restaurants are often unfriendly, but here the chef (owner?) was friendly when we left too.

Stopped by because I wanted Japanese food for lunch. Despite the impressive building and authentic Japanese cuisine, the prices were affordable at 800〜2500円. We were shown to a private room, so we could enjoy our meal at leisure. We had the 松花堂弁当 「花」, with sablefish, scallops, eggplant and shrimp tempura, salmon, scallop and chutoro sashimi, simmered octopus and daikon, and chawanmushi. Everything was wonderfully luxurious and delicious.

Located in a lively entertainment district, yet with a contrastingly chic appearance. Every dish is painstakingly prepared. Gentle flavors that bring out the ingredients. It was truly delicious.

I've visited several times for celebrations and thought かわら家 really lived up to its reputation. We had a course meal. However, the young woman serving us seemed to be a part-timer; she stumbled over answers to questions about the dishes, and I was surprised when she cleared something we were still eating. A shame, especially since the food was good.

Beautiful presentation, and the chawanmushi has a gentle flavor! The rice was delicious! The proprietress in a kimono brought our food, and I liked the atmosphere too❣️ The food tasted average
