Was turned away and claimed that it was for "reservations only" but we witnessed a couple got in without reservations. Restaurant had seats available.

Visited in late 2026.05 I visited a little before 12 on Sunday, but there were already 3 groups of customers. Only 1 parking space remained, showing how popular it was. I ordered the shop's signature 「みそかつ定食」. It's a new take on miso katsu, with sweet miso and shiso sandwiched inside Abashiri-produced クリーンポーク. Rather than having sauce poured on top like typical miso katsu, the miso and shiso are enclosed within the freshly fried, crispy coating, and one bite fills your mouth with meat juices and savory miso flavor. I recommend tasting it as is first, without adding anything. The portion was generous and very satisfying. By around 12:15 it was nearly full, and later customers were told their food would take about 40 minutes, so arriving early is recommended. Besides counter seating, there are several raised seating areas, making it easy to visit alone or in a group. There are 3 parking spaces in front of the shop, and 1 motorcycle can also park in the space on the right side of the building. Besides みそかつ定食, the menu offers a wide selection of sushi, tempura, rice bowls, soba, udon, and more. I'd highly recommend this shop to locals and anyone visiting Moseushi for sightseeing.

On 4/29 (holiday Wednesday), I arrived about 5 minutes before opening (11:00), but they noticed me and let me in (happy). I thought it might be crowded on the first day of GW, but only 1 other group came before I finished eating…. Parking is available for only 3 cars in front of the shop. There are 8 tables in the raised seating area (seating 4 each), so the capacity is pretty good. But it's a little difficult for customers with leg or back problems. There were counter seats too, but the lady running the shop was using the counter as a workbench (haha). Now, my reason for visiting 紀州 this time was to have みそかつ定食 (¥1,400). Unlike typical miso katsu, it's tonkatsu made by sandwiching sweet miso and shiso between pork. There's no way that wouldn't taste good. The crispy coating and tender pork had lovely textures. Because the meat isn't too thick, the sweet miso mingles nicely in your mouth with the savory fat. Then the aroma of shiso wafts through your nose… Even without sauce, it's more than enough to keep you eating rice. The rice portion was quite generous too. The miso soup had fuki in it, giving a sense of the season. The pickles were good too (haha). It was worth the journey of more than 2 hours (haha).

Mostly Japanese food, with a large menu and reasonably priced lunches. This time I had the zangi set. With 6 large pieces of zangi and a large portion of rice, it's very satisfying for big eaters. The ななつばし rice from the rice-growing area of Moseushi is delicious! They have sushi too.

As others have written, the older woman's attitude at this shop is absolutely awful. When I went to ask if there was any other parking, she told me to just park somewhere around there, so I did. There were 4 of us, including children, and when we ordered 4 sets, she said wasn't that too much and insisted we must not leave anything. Every time she brought food, she stressed again that we must not leave any. It was hot, so I ordered zaru soba, but the dipping broth was so weak it felt like I was eating it with water. I could accept a bad attitude if the food was delicious, but I never want to go again. I really regretted not eating at the nearby convenience store instead. I don't even want to give it 1 star.
