I was doing the roadside station stamp rally when the owner of this shop waved at me from a distance, so I followed along. According to the owner, customers say the katsudon here is the best in Hokkaido, and the tonkatsu is also delicious; apparently this is the only place in Hokkaido that makes its own tonkatsu sauce. So I ate the tonkatsu and got katsudon to go. As for the taste, both the katsudon and tonkatsu were indeed tasty, but honestly there are quite a few other places with good katsudon and tonkatsu. The disappointing part is that the room is dark, and even when I asked them to turn on the lights, they won't during the day. Also, apparently the owner recently rescued a cat that was being bullied by crows, and it was walking around the raised tatami area. Including that kindness of the owner, I gave it 4 stars.

Spicy miso ramen. Even though the spiciness was moderate, I sweated a lot. According to the owner, the rice dishes are delicious. The owner is friendly, but being talked to about all sorts of things while I'm eating ramen is a bit much…

I don't think it's right to badmouth other shops. It's a shame, since the food tastes good.

I sensed danger the moment I saw the lights inside weren't on in broad daylight, but since I was hungry, I played it safe and ordered miso ramen. They say nothing tastes bad when you're hungry, but I realized that's a lie. Even though I love ramen and was pretty hungry, I could barely even finish it. I hated myself for having sat down. The clincher was the homemade barley tea made with groundwater: there was a mysterious light-brown gel-like substance stuck to the mesh of the dispenser spout. It was a hot day and I was thirsty, but I had no desire at all to drink it. You can guess the hygiene of the other cooking utensils and dishes.

While we were ordering, the owner, not wearing a mask, repeatedly declared to us customers, "My food is delicious!" At that point I already badly wanted to go home, but I held that feeling back and waited for the zaru ramen I'd been made to order, and even so it was slow to come out. Since the owner cooks alone, it took about 20 minutes. Then, finally, the zaru ramen was served along with the owner's parting line, "The sauce is great!" Of course I wasn't expecting anything, but it was just ordinary zaru ramen, exactly as I imagined. This is the first time I've seen such a terrible eatery!!
