Soba isn't my thing, but it was actually pretty delicious. I got the Kitsune Soba and the deep-fried tofu was thick and delicious. There was a crazy amount of noodles. The other toppings were spinach and green onions. There's also free green tea. For ¥630, that's an nice deal. I just wish a salad or some other vegetables came along with it.
View on GoogleI went after learning that they served つゆ焼きそば. It's different from the original version in 青森. It has its own original flavor. I think opinions will vary on the noodles and broth. Personally, I prefer the flavor I had in 青森. It seems popular, with customers coming in one after another. The staff were pleasant too. Perhaps because of rising prices… the portion felt a little lacking.
View on GoogleThis is a long-established diner that has been operating in 森町 for years. Their banner is often stored inside, so I wondered whether they were open, but don't worry. Usually, there's a cheerful sign saying they're open. Once you settle in and look at the menu, that too has an old-fashioned feel. The apparently brush-pen-written menu is another nice touch. There aren't all that many dishes, but each has its own distinctive flavor and appearance, making the food enjoyable. I ordered their famous 焼きそば. As you can see, their 焼きそば isn't the familiar kind stir-fried in oil, but a version simmered in soup. Somehow, it immediately reminded me of ローメン, a local dish from 長野県. Despite its unusual appearance, it tastes just like fragrant 焼きそば, and it's delicious in its own way. Sauce-flavored soup is an innovative idea, but it was delicious enough to drink every drop, and felt quite light too. This place serves food you could call 森町's soul food. If you visit 森町, I definitely recommend trying it at least once.
View on GoogleI occasionally explore new places, so after reading the reviews I visited for the first time just after opening. The interior is small, but reasonably clean ⭕ I ordered and tried the popular 焼きそば. It was like 汁焼きそば, something you don't see much elsewhere, and the taste wasn't bad. Most of all, I was surprised by the reasonable prices. Next time I'd like to try the 味噌ラーメン or something.
View on GoogleI had やきそば. It was similar to 黒石つゆ焼きそば, with a broth rich in Worcestershire sauce and dashi that had a wonderfully hard-to-describe flavor. The stock from the seafood ingredients came through strongly, combined nicely with the noodles, and was delicious.
