Ramen is only for lunch time, as I unfortunately found out. The peach manju it's tasty, although it just looks like a peach.
View on GoogleA restaurant of this caliber has not business being in such a remote location. Excellent Japanese style Chinese food. The dim sum was just ok compared to Vancouver standards but the mapo tofu hit perfectly. Just a hint of numbing spices and a complex flavour. The shrimp fried rice was topped with thick sauce and a perfectly cooked soft omelette egg. The star of the show was the dan dan noodles. The soup was complex and medium spicy, but the texture of the noodles was the standout. Thin ramen noodles with excellent chew. Definitely worth the detour if you are driving in and out of Hokadate. Also worth noting is that they only take so many people a day, it seems. We came before the restaurant opened and put our names down and was still 6th in line. After that, hostess comes out to take names. When we were walking out after our lunch, the SOLD OUT sign was already on the door.
View on GoogleI'd heard it was a Bib Gourmand and was curious for several months. I was finally able to go. The interior of the shop is clean. I had the tantanmen. My husband had the ankake fried rice. The flavor is gentle, and it isn't bland—the base is solidly put together, and it's delicious without masking anything with something else! This was beyond my expectations. I'd like to go at night too! The owner was also an elegant person who gave off a sense of cleanliness. ※They said they don't have ankake yakisoba. ※It was full when it opened at 11:30 for lunch. ※The parking lot is across the street.
View on GoogleThere's parking for several cars across the road. The shop has 3 counter seats and 5–6 sunken kotatsu tables. You write your order on paper and call the staff with a bell. The lunch menu has fewer items (maybe there are more at night)
View on GoogleAuthentic Chinese food, even selected as a Michelin Bib Gourmand, available at a reasonable price for lunch. It's an extremely popular shop that's full from the moment it opens. The flavor is so gentle that you could eat it three times a day—morning, noon, and night. Everything I ate was delicious, a very satisfying lunch.
