After seeing it on どさんこワイド, I wanted to visit, and finally managed to go! I'd read the reviews beforehand, so I'd seen a few mentions of waiting and such, but it wasn't a hardship. The waiting area had a tent for shade and water to stay hydrated! There are certainly hot spots inside, but they had portable spot coolers, so I think closing the entrance door instead of using just a screen would naturally make it cooler. Still, the people cooking in the kitchen must be hotter, so thinking about that, it didn't feel like a hardship😂 I ordered shoyu ramen and tako zangi! The soup was sweet with a little spice, and had 4〜5 slices of chashu, with a very good balance of noodles, toppings, and broth, so I drank all the soup too🤙 Very easy to enjoy! The tako zangi releases the octopus flavor with every bite, a dish that makes you want a drink too🍺

Just what you'd expect from Chef 三国. He doesn't disappoint. I had the amaebi curry, and it wasn't one of those ordinary curries with amaebi simply placed on top, heavily spiced and all about appearance. Instead, the spices were deliberately restrained to bring out the amaebi's umami, sweetness, and aroma—a curry that children and adults alike can thoroughly enjoy. The amaebi on top was a visual treat too, but the curry was so delicious that I think it could stand as an amaebi curry even without it. I also had the pudding. Until it arrived at the table, I'd imagined a small pudding just to refresh the palate, but both the flavor and portion were thoroughly satisfying. The pudding, caramel, and cream don't all compete for attention; each holds back where needed, creating a harmonious pudding. I felt that if it were served at the French restaurant, even twice the price wouldn't seem unreasonable. It was worth traveling several hours to get there. I hope the town of Mashike becomes even livelier too.

The diner 「志満川」 closed in 2022, much to everyone's regret. Chef 三國, a master of French cuisine, opened this restaurant because he wanted to carry on its flavors. The main dishes are 「かあさん醤油ラーメン」, which carries on the taste of 志満川, and 「増毛甘海老カレー」, featuring Mashike's specialty sweet shrimp. Happily, there's a half & half set that lets you try both. So I had this half & half. First, the soy sauce ramen. It had 2 slices of chashu so big you wouldn't think it was a half portion, along with a seasoned boiled egg and other toppings, making it quite substantial. The soup was Japanese-style, with a flavor perhaps leaning a little toward noodle dipping broth. The sweet shrimp curry had 3 fried sweet shrimp because it was a half portion. Apparently the regular size has 6. This curry was packed with sweet shrimp flavor. Something like shrimp oil really intensified it. I also had 三國タコザンギ and an individual order of fried sweet shrimp. The octopus and sweet shrimp that represent Mashike's flavors really are delicious. Finally, I finished with 三國プリン. It's a slightly firm pudding. On my first visit to 三國本家, I thoroughly enjoyed Chef 三國's flavors. But I'm still unsure whether I'd come back for the ramen or curry.

This was my first visit. I had the half & half of 母ちゃんラーメン and sweet shrimp curry. The ramen had a gentle, nostalgic flavor, and the chashu tasted as though it had been smoked. Since it was a half portion, I could have eaten a little more The curry had a rich roux, and I wonder if its tartness and sweetness came from apples. It was delicious But! I was the 5th person to enter right when they opened at 11, and it took over 30 minutes for the first customer to get their food. My food arrived after nearly 40 minutes. There were 3〜4 people in the kitchen, yet it took far too long. I wonder what time the people queuing when I left would finish eating
