The exterior blends an old elementary school with a modern building. When I checked in at the entrance, the receptionist came out of the office and carefully explained the highlights💯 (I later learned from a video inside that his name was Miyazaki🤗). First came the scarecrow displays, photos, and panels. Ah, Kyowa really is a farming town. Next were pottery and stone tools excavated in Kyowa. It must have flourished since ancient times, from the Jomon through the Satsumon periods. The cord marks on the Jomon pottery were clear. Some stone tools were obsidian, suggesting contact with the Tokachi region. Then came old farming equipment and everyday utensils; the farming tools were about on par with the museum in Otofuke, with all sorts of varieties even just of hoes. The elementary school setting was also realistically recreated. Like my school when I first enrolled, the classroom had a teacher's platform that no longer exists today, an organ in the front corner, and a coal stove. Desks with lids that open—so nostalgic🫡 Today's date was on the blackboard (thank you for changing it every day🙇🙋). Above all, the elementary school toilets! I only used that kind during my earliest school years, but yes, this is what they were like〜🤔 After looking at the panels and photos and watching the film, the origins of Kyowa connect all the way from ancient times to the present. In the aerial photos, the fields, rice paddies, and houses among them create a natural landscape that looks like a single work of art😊 Finally, the Kyowa specialty products corner: Raiden watermelons, melons, rice, pumpkins, and more. That's Hokkaido for you🎉🎊 There was plenty worth seeing.
