This is just a random noodle shop that we passed by on our way to Toya lake. We were hungry with 2 kids. To my surprise the food was delicious. The beautiful lady spoke excellent English and I was completely shocked. I think this is a family business and she's the daughter of the chef... however, I am not sure. We were able to communicate effectively. Rare in Hokkaido. Plenty of parking. Food is tasty, simple yet elegant. Cash only in this location. If you're hungry, stop here and grab lunch!

This is a popular soba restaurant in Kyogoku. I enjoyed the chicken seiro soba (soba noodles served with a soy sauce-based dipping sauce, featuring tender chicken and broth, slightly sweet leeks, and plenty of dipping sauce). Foreigners who are connoisseurs of Japanese food and can use chopsticks will surely appreciate it. There is a workshop at the entrance where they prepare the soba noodles, and if you're lucky, you can take a tour. This is a unique and ingenious feature that you don't often get to see.

I really enjoyed this asparagus tempura soba with a view of Mt. Yotei. (Hokkaido asparagus is at its best in May and June) Just be sure to go early—they often sell out.

On our way to lake Toya, we passed by this place for lunch. It was full house so we had to write our name on the list and wait for our turn. We waited for almost 20-30min. Inside was really warm 😅 even though outside was like 12 degrees Condensation was everywhere inside. Soba was good. I had the cold soba with the tempura bits and add on prawn tempura. Yum. Left with a happy tummy ☺️

Food is nice and with a reasonable price. Coffee price at Jpn 580. but if you order set there (not expensive also), - free flow drink included the coffee!!! (We can't believe our ears, and confirmed twice before we dare to get our coffee :D)
