Stayed in Niseko for a week! The only thing to match the phenomenal skiing was this stand out restaurant! So good I had to visit twice.. Despite making no booking they were able to accommodate us for the second sitting, we were warmly greeted and able to sit upstairs at the bar whilst we waited for our table. Here we enjoyed a couple of tastefully designed cocktails. Upon being seated we were run through the set menu; this was a no brainer, to experience all they had to offer. The 5(/6) course meal from start to finish was flawless. The stand out dishes included beautifully fresh and well presented tuna. Despite so far from the coast was still in keeping with Hokkaido’s fantastic sea food along with some of the freshest oysters I’ve ever tried. The main of Wagyu fillet was a stand out, however the venison they offered was a close contender! Undoubtedly the best venison I’d eaten with a clean and fresh flavour with no underlying or overpowering gamey taste. The courses were tastefully paired with wines as suggested by a server named Charlotte. She provided us with fantastic and efficient service throughout the meal, explaining each dish and matching wines and aperitifs which would complement each dish to really elevate the experience. Finally the desert, based around a poached Pear dish with a beautifully balanced mousse and accompanying delicate texture enhancing garnishes. Not too sweet, this was perfect for myself who often doesn’t indulge. Finally we were presented with their house infused Rum, 2 delicious complex sprits which rounded off the meal perfectly. All in all a fantastic experience, I look forward to what the future of the venue will hold and can’t wait for return for some great skiing and some surprisingly stand out food!

We had an absolutely outstanding experience at The Barn in Niseko. The food was nothing short of exceptional — beautifully presented, full of flavour, and clearly crafted with incredible attention to detail. Every dish felt thoughtfully balanced and showcased top-quality ingredients. What truly elevated the evening was the service, especially from Charlotte. She was warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu with great recommendations and making us feel genuinely welcome from start to finish. Her professionalism and friendly manner made the night even more memorable. If you’re in Niseko and appreciate world-class dining with impeccable service, The Barn is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back.

The Barn by Odin is one of Niseko’s true originals — an OG from the pre-boom era, long before the area became the global winter destination it is today. Despite the rapid evolution around it, The Barn has quietly and confidently held its standard, never needing to chase trends to stay relevant. Set within a charming rustic space, the restaurant delivers refined French cuisine with a focus on quality over quantity. The menu is deliberately limited, but that restraint is its strength — what they choose to serve, they execute exceptionally well. Each dish is thoughtful, balanced, and precise, allowing the ingredients and technique to speak for themselves. From the moment we arrived, the staff set the tone for the evening. Warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive, their hospitality elevated the entire experience without ever feeling forced or formal. It’s the kind of service that makes you feel like a valued guest rather than just another reservation. We opted for the tasting menu, and it was nothing short of exquisite. Course after course arrived beautifully presented and expertly crafted, showcasing classic French foundations with a quiet confidence. Every bite felt intentional, refined, and memorable. At ¥16,000 per person, it certainly sits on the premium end of dining in Niseko. But considering the consistency, craftsmanship, and overall experience, it was worth every penny. The Barn by Odin is a reminder that true excellence doesn’t need reinvention — just integrity, passion, and time.

Service was awesome and the truffle butter fixes everything. Portions were miniscule for what you pay, and honestly a little bland. Wagyu was as soft as butter. The fish was a bit overcooked, very tender but a little dry. Go here if you're missing European food. Service was top notch and very attentive.

We saw this place on Google and it honestly blew my mind. The service was immaculate, with incredible attention to detail. The food was beautifully curated and absolutely delicious, and the drinks especially the wine pairing matched each dish perfectly. You could tell it was put together by a true sommelier. If you can request Tim as your server please do he is amazing!!!!
