Free parking, and the ticket is two-for-one with the neighboring Kutchan Furudokan (natural history and local history museum). A lovely museum in Kutchan dedicated to painter Shu Ogawara (1911–2002), a Kutchan native, with a striking view of Mount Yotei from the lobby. Much of Ogawara’s subject matter is animals, and the Furudokan’s own animal displays — many done in felt illustration — are beautifully, artfully made. The two museums end up in an unexpectedly nice conversation with each other about the natural world and art. This is a great place to connect with the local history, art, and wildlife.

It was an interesting showcase of the works of a local artist. The highlight for me was the grand piano in the reception area, which I was able to play for an hour. There was nobody around, and I was finally able to reunite with a piano after giving up my dreams of becoming a musician several years ago. It was like an unexpected meeting with a lost lover, and we spent our time singing together under the view of the magnificent Mt Yotei. The staff were really friendly and nice, and thanked me for the music. There was free coffee after the visit, and they told me to come back to play the piano again. It was a beautiful encounter I will never forget.

Great place , wonderful paintings, and amazingly polite staff. Would recommend to any art lover. If you have some time to spend in Kutchan, definitely visit it. The ticket price includes a visit to the historical museum that is nearby as well, which is very informative and presents the nature and history of the region in a great way!

This is an art museum that Kutchan Town can be proud of! In addition to Shu Ogawara's paintings, there are also monthly exhibits of wonderful Hokkaido artists! The staff are also very kind!

Niseko’s gem. A tranquil and stylish museum hidden in the snow landscape. Staff is very nice and welcoming. The collection is small but worth it.
