We enjoyed our whelk and the friendly grandfather who guides the customers how to properly eat them. This shop also serves soy sauce ramen. There was no mistaking the soy sauce tare base (somewhat overwhelming) and, sadly, the noodles seemed to be store bought. Not our favorite, but the whelk and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant more than made up for the shortcomings of the ramen.

The grilled whelks were good (I'm not fond of their texture, but the sauce was very good). As other reviews have noted, however, the ramen was decidedly bland. The staff was very kind and welcoming, as always in Japan.

Warm & traditional restaurant serving fresh grilled whelk and soy sauce soup based ramen. Delicious, lovely owners demonstrated how to eat the whelks. We’re glad to find this restaurant, highly recommended!!

Wonderful grilled shells are available, must try. The guy grilling shells told me how you get a piece of shell meat if it has left inside of the shell, a great trick you can learn!
