Visited at lunchtime on August 11 during the Obon holiday. There were more than 10 groups' names on the waiting board, but turnover was fast and we got in after about 30 minutes. Had the Supa-Katsu! The taste was flawless, delicious! However, the service from the gray-haired lady showing people to their seats was the worst. You have to buy a meal ticket first, and she pressed us in an almost angry tone: 'Did you buy your ticket!?' 'Buy your ticket first!' It really ruined the dining atmosphere, and my kid was intimidated by her attitude. The ticket machine being cash-only in this day and age is a pain too.
View on GoogleJanuary 31, 2026, lunch Arrived around 10:40; while I was looking at the takeout menu in front of the shop, a staff member came out and asked, 'Would you like to write your name on the waiting board?' I wrote my name right away and got number 1, went in right as they opened at 11, bought the Supa-Katsu Curry (1,350 yen) and a fried egg (100 yen) from the vending machine, and when I was shown to my seat and handed over the ticket I asked, 'Please put the katsu on afterward'; it arrived in about 5 minutes. My first Izumiya Supa-Katsu Curry in ages, piping hot iron plate, sizzling. I bravely dug in while it was hot, but huh? It was rather light, or rather I didn't sense much richness; I knew it wouldn't be spicy, but it felt somehow greasy, and honestly my impression was, did something change? I used a lot of the grated cheese on the table to force some richness into it. With the katsu added afterward, the breading stays crispy to the end, which is nice, though that's a matter of taste. I feel like the curry used to have a bit more of a spice kick too? Unfortunately it's been quite a while since I last had it, so my memory is a bit hazy, but I remember being more impressed. The amount hasn't changed much from before, I think? The regular size was plenty. I used to eat this with rice too (sweat) I worked hard to finish it while hot and was full at least; before I knew it the shop was almost full, a popular place indeed. Thank you for the meal.
View on Google2026.04.05 (Sun) When it comes to spaghetti in Kushiro, it's 'Izumiya.' Their 'Supa-Katsu,' a local specialty, is famous. The main store is in central Kushiro, so you have to park in a paid lot, but the Solo Tottori store is inside a large supermarket, so it has a huuuge free parking lot, which is convenient. Prices seem to have gone up a little (about 70 yen).
View on GoogleI like it better than the main store; the vibe is softer. I went around 17:30 on a weekday, and while it wasn't impossible to get a seat, there were quite a lot of customers. Feels loved by the locals. I had the Supa-Katsu; might it be tastier than the main store? Two disappointing points. Payment is still cash only. Unbelievable. The menu is only displayed on the ticket machine. No time to think it over. If it were at least displayed at the storefront, I could choose at my leisure. So, ★3.5.
View on GoogleA shop where you can eat Kushiro's famous spaghetti. This time I ordered the 'Izumiya-style curry flavor.' It's Izumiya's classic style of stir-fried spaghetti loaded with ingredients like cabbage, ham, and egg, with a subtle curry flavor added. Simple but rich, with a somehow addictive taste. The noodles are well stir-fried and fragrant, and the crunch of the vegetables and the mellowness of the egg are nicely balanced. It's more filling than it looks, too, very satisfying. The famous 'Supa-Katsu' is popular in Kushiro, but Izumiya-style spaghetti like this is also a menu item commonly eaten by locals. A rustic yet somehow nostalgic taste. A dish that let me enjoy Kushiro's local Western-style cuisine. 🍝
