Run by the proprietress and another older lady, just the two of them. Almost all counter seating. The three-part starter, mainly simmered dishes with that mom's-cooking feel, was comforting right away, and the main offerings are very local-style fish and shellfish. Fresh and satisfying. But menme at 4880円 takes some courage, lol It seems like a place where locals relax and chat with the ladies, but it's definitely not noisy, and even first-time travelers like us felt warmly welcomed. A bit expensive, but tasty. I eat hokke in Korea too, but I've never thought it was delicious; Hokkaido hokke is really delicious.

Otoshi is usually just a small snack to go with drinks, but here it was simmered white fish, which was also delicious. The proprietress and a server run the place, but service isn't slow. The recommended sashimi was very fresh and delicious. The yakitori and grilled fish were also delicious and kept the drinks flowing.

The kind proprietress handles service on her own. It's a robata izakaya with a wonderful atmosphere, and I think it's a hidden gem in Kushiro. Along with the simmered and grilled fish, the distinctive local delicacies go very well with drinks. Do give it a visit.
