Good if you like pork. Normal size portion big enough. No need for the extra helpings unless you are a sumo wrestler 😆 my son run 18km just before, was starving, and only just finished.

▪️Mixed butadon (1200円)▪️ A shop in Ōtanemoe that features butadon and curry. The name "Butafuku" is written large on the white exterior wall. The menu is narrowed down to mixed butadon, loin butadon, curry butadon, and so on, with the decisiveness of a specialty shop. The atmosphere is relaxed and easy to enter, but the will to compete on butadon alone is clear. The bowl is covered with a tight-packed layer of thick-cut meat. It's impressive just to look at, and the layers of meat alone lift your mood. The good thing about the mix is that you can enjoy the difference between loin and belly at once. The loin is very tender despite being thick-cut. It retains a fibrous feel but loosens smoothly when chewed. The belly, on the other hand, in addition to being tender, has a strong sweetness of fat, and umami and richness linger slowly. The difference between the cuts comes through properly, so it doesn't end up monotonous. The sauce is soy sauce-based. It's not as heavy as it looks, and is surprisingly light and easy to eat. It goes well with the belly fat, while with the loin it felt slightly lacking, and I got the impression the sauce could have spread a bit more over the rice. However, a sweet-spicy, rich extra sauce is provided on the table, so it's interesting that you can adjust the strength yourself. Ichimi (chili powder) also pairs well, and toward the second half you can build it to your own taste. The miso soup doesn't end up as a mere supporting player either. It's an unusual arajiru with potatoes, plain but deeply tasty. Having it between bites of butadon loosens up the mouth. It's not a shop that impresses with flashy technique, but there's the satisfaction of thick-cut meat, the fun of different cuts, and the range of adjustment with the tabletop seasonings, a margin left to the eater, which is good. The price is also reasonable, and it's a reliable bowl when you want to fill up properly.

If you want to enjoy the tastiest butadon in Kushiro, "Butafuku" is the only choice. It's very busy at lunchtime, but at night there are noticeably empty seats and you can enjoy delicious butadon without waiting. Besides the regular butadon, arranged menu items such as "Stamina Butadon" and "Shiso Miso Butadon" are also recommended. Inside there are only counter seats or a tatami area for groups. Groups of 3 or more who want to eat in the tatami area will probably have to wait, especially when crowded. If there are two of you, eat at the counter. From some counter seats you can enjoy watching the pork being grilled and also see the kitchen, a thoughtful touch from the shop that I appreciate. If you love spicy food, ordering extra "wasabi" makes the deliciousness of the butadon swell.

I came because I was told "if you want butadon in Kushiro, this is the place!" The sauce of gyōja ninniku (wild garlic) simmered sweet and salty goes wonderfully with the tender meat! When I revisited, I had the rare meat said to come from only 3 out of 100 pigs. I added yama wasabi as a topping, and the aftertaste was refreshing. It was very delicious. Thank you for the meal.
